Thanks to everyone who came out bright and early for the Muffin Fun Run/Walk and the AGM!
We are sorry to see two executive members step down this year, Laurie Lyle (president) and Denise Martin (secretary). Thank you so much for your amazing dedication and hard work.
At the same time, we are excited to introduce some fresh faces. Here is the executive for 2016:
President – Hans Bjornson
Chairs the meetings, organizes and delegates various work and/or projects.
Vice President – Donlea Holman
Chairs the meetings in the absence of the President, assists with work and/or projects.
Treasurer – Judy Tremblay
Manages the finances.
Secretary – Olivia Greenham
Attends the meetings and records the meetings.
Website Coordinator – Jennifer Bowen
Manages the database of memberships/registrations, manages race registrations, designs and operates website, writes and distributes newsletters/emails, manages the club Facebook and Twitter pages.
Media Liaison – vacant
Provides the media with various forms of networking and media.
This year, the Grande Prairie Run/Walk Club is adding a little flavour to our AGM (Annual General Meeting). Join us at 9:00 a.m. on March 13 for a Muffin Fun Run!
Where: Outdoor run/walk starts from the Eastlink Centre (meet by the Second Cup). AGM will be in the Eastlink Centre kitchen (2nd floor by the daycare).
When: 9:00 a.m. Sunday March 13. Followed by the AGM at Eastlink Center at 10:00 a.m.
Distance: Whatever you feel like running or walking, just be back for free muffins (Fall Classic recipe!) & coffee and the AGM at 10:00 a.m.
What else: You will need a GP Run/Walk membership to attend. You may purchase memberships with cash or cheque at the AGM just before the meeting starts, or purchase online in advance using a credit card. You can also sign up for our Spring Training while you’re at the event too!
No registration for this event, just show up!
Here’s a list of the executive positions we are looking to fill. If you’re interested in any of these roles, please attend our next meeting on November 3.
Recorder – attend the meetings and record the minutes, writes and distributes the newsletters/emails
Social Committee – organizes refreshments and/or fun events
Media Liaison – provides media with event information and results
Logistics Coordinator – provides maps with distances
Race Directors – various members for various races/events
Members at Large – members wanting a voice regarding club activities without holding a position
A big thanks to all who attended our club meeting last night! You all helped breathe new life into the club and we’re so excited to see what the next year will bring.
We are still on the lookout for executive members, ideas, and feedback.
Our next meeting is Tuesday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Tito’s downtown.
