Jingle Bell Run – December 10

In case you missed it – our Jingle Bell Run is this Sunday at 11! Registration opens at 10 at the Muskoseepi Pavilion. David’s Tea is sponsoring hot tea for the event, and we will have hot chocolate and baked goodies. If you’re interested in bringing baked goods for the event, drop them off to Muskoseepi Pavilion between 10 and 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Some FAQ’s: kids, kids in strollers, kids in sleds, dogs on leash all invited! This fun event is for everyone! This is a fun event, meaning no timing and no medals.

This is a free event, but please bring a cash donation for the food bank.

Resolution Run – January 1

Another fun run – no timing and no medals. It’s a great way to kick off the new year! Meet at Starbucks on 68th at 11 a.m.

Spring Training – February 25

Training for a big race in the spring, like the Brian Harms Memorial Race? This 11-week training group is free if you buy a 2018 membership! Starts at 9 a.m. from Eastlink Centre. Although we meet indoors, this is an outdoor run group.

Annual General Meeting (AGM) – February 25

Open positions to be announced. Attendance doesn’t mean you have to sign up for an executive position, it’s a great way to get involved with the club and see what we do! Plus we will have muffins! Location TBA. Will be at 10 a.m.

Spring Training (formally known as DHT Press Run/Walk Training)

Training schedules:

10 weekly sessions (outdoor only)
Sunday mornings
March 20 – May 22, 2016
Walking / 5K / 10K / 21K training groups
All groups meet at 9:00AM at the Eastlink Centre*
(Next to the Fieldhouse/Second Cup on the main floor)
You can also register in-person at our AGM on March 13

Completely FREE with the purchase of a 2016 GPRWC membership (value of $40)!

 You must have a current GPRWC membership in order to participate in the training groups!
 * You do not need to be a member of the Eastlink Centre!

Choose your distance and training level, and our awesome volunteer training leaders will help you reach your goal!
You’ll get lots of encouragement and advice, plus the chance to meet some great training buddies!  You’ll pin on your race bib with confidence and feel great as you cross the finish line! Spring Training is also a great way to get in shape for other races, or soccer, cycling, softball, golf, and other summer sports!

The Muffin Fun Run/Walk & AGM

This year, the Grande Prairie Run/Walk Club is adding a little flavour to our AGM (Annual General Meeting).  Join us at 9:00 a.m. on March 13 for a Muffin Fun Run!

Where: Outdoor run/walk starts from the Eastlink Centre (meet by the Second Cup).  AGM will be in the Eastlink Centre kitchen (2nd floor by the daycare).

When: 9:00 a.m. Sunday March 13.  Followed by the AGM at Eastlink Center at 10:00 a.m.

Distance: Whatever you feel like running or walking, just be back for free muffins (Fall Classic recipe!) & coffee and the AGM at 10:00 a.m.

What else: You will need a GP Run/Walk membership to attend.  You may purchase memberships with cash or cheque at the AGM just before the meeting starts, or purchase online in advance using a credit card.  You can also sign up for our Spring Training while you’re at the event too!

Brian Harms Registration Closes TOMORROW!

Registration for the Brian Harms Memorial Race closes TOMORROW Wednesday May 6th @ 11:30PM. NO race day registrations will be permitted, except for the 300M kid’s race, which you can still register for online (until Saturday May 9th @ 11:30PM), or in person at 8AM on Sunday (race day)!

This is also your last chance to qualify to enter the draw for the Triple Crown Challenge (participating in Brian Harms, DHT Press Run/Walk, and Fall Classic) and the 2/14 Challenge (participating in Brian Harms and DHT Press Run/Walk)!
